This past May, I traveled to NYC to attend one of the city’s newest contemporary art fair...Art New York- 2019.  I attended as an independant art consultant and had a great time during the week long show.  The weather was fair and cool, drawing thousands of attendees. This was the fifth year for the fair which has grown in stature year after year.  In the following blog pages, I will share some of what I saw and the most memorable moments of the trip. Enjoy!

The fair was quite interesting, attracting everything from relatively unknown artistst….to the icons of the art world.  The exhibitors came from all over the world and were as interesting as the works they exhibited.

The show hosted painters, sculptors, photograhers, print-makers, video-conceptualists, and more!  It had it all.  Here is a Robert Indiana bronze sculpture, Love…. A great tribute to the artists who passed away last year.

An art fair isn’t a full success without the presence of the modern masters.  Here is a wonderful linocut (in color) by the man himself, Pablo Picasso. A gorgeous example of printmaking by this iconic Spanish Master.

Finally, a playful work on paper by another Spanish master, Joan Miro.  A man who mastered fauvism and surrealism all at once.
